About Wilmette Garage Door Pros

We work on garage doors, springs, openers, tracks, and panels, based out of 3201 Old Glenview Rd here in Wilmette. Most of the houses we get called to were built between 1938 and 1992, with the median build year around 1961, so a lot of what we see is original hardware or a replacement door hung on old torsion mounts that nobody makes parts for anymore. That's true across a lot of the North Shore, not just Wilmette, we get calls from Kenilworth a mile down the road, Winnetka a couple miles out, and out toward Northfield and Golf as well.

The cold climate here matters more than people think. A door that's been fine for years will suddenly bind or drop off track once temperatures swing hard, because the metal contracts, lubricant thickens, and old rollers that were already worn just give out. We don't sell that as an emergency to scare you, it's just the season doing what it does to a 1960s spring that was never replaced.

We don't do new construction framing or structural carpentry. If your opening needs to be resized or the header rebuilt, that's a job for a general contractor, and we'll tell you that up front instead of taking the work and improvising.
